Fall Reception @ Maine Maritime Museum

October 1, 2023 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The Sagadahoc County Democratic Committee invites you to a Fall Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, at the Maine Maritime Museum, 243 Washington Street, Bath.

Sen. Mattie Daughtry, Maine’s Assistant Majority Leader, will be our keynote speaker. Sen. Daughtry was a driving force behind the recent passage of Maine’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Act, which provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of paid leave for certain family and health reasons. Sen. Daughtry, who represents nearby SD23, will discuss the PFML and its implementation, the benefits for Maine people and our communities, and Maine’s journey to becoming only the 13th state in the union to pass this important legislation.

We also will hear legislative highlights from Sen. Eloise Vitelli, the Majority Leader of the Senate, as well as our other local representatives, all of whom played a vital role in passing bills that support Sagadahoc families, our economy, and the environment.

The Fall Reception features the same opportunity for socializing and political updates as our traditional Harvest Supper, but in a beautiful venue overlooking the Kennebec River and with a conversation-friendly menu of hearty appetizers and small desserts. We will have a cash bar (non-alcoholic drinks will be free of charge), too.

The Southern Maine Street Duo will make a return appearance, performing several classical pieces during the social hour.
