The Sagadahoc Democrats’ traditional Spring Social event was tremendously successful – 75 people attended the event which was held at the West Bath fire house. Matt Dunlap, Maine’s Secretary of State, was the featured speaker.

Many of our elected representatives were also in attendance: Eloise Vitelli (SD 23), Allison Hepler (HD 53), Joyce McCreight (HD 51), Sean Paulhus (HD 52), Denise Tepler (HD 54), Seth Berry (HD 55), Natasha Irving (PD 6), and Joel Merry (Sheriff, Sagadahoc Co)

Our legislators universally reported that the whole spirit of legislating and the tone of interactions in Augusta has changed, is much more civil and collaborative. The focus of current legislative work has been:

  • Drug costs and healthcare¬†
  • Tobacco use
  • Funding broadband infrastructure
  • Marine resources (lobstering issues, herring bait, etc)
  • Climate change
  • Clean energy future, wind energy and job
